Our family (kids were 7-12 when we first tried this, now 10-15 it's still popular) had success with the following easy and simple dish:
    - 3/4 to 1 lb sausage (we've tried breakfast links, italian sausage, and our current favorite: Jimmy Dean light)
    - A box of pasta (our favorite is rotelli)
    - about 2-3 Tbl butter or margarine
    - about 2 Tbl sour cream
    - parmigian cheese (stir in a good 1/2 cup or more, then put some more on top after you've dished it out)

Cook the sausage, set it aside. Cook the pasta, drain, stir in sausage, butter, sour cream and cheese.

It's not fancy, but what exhausted parent wants fancy on most weeknights?
