Today is my Down Dog

I hate it in Yoga where they're like -- now go back to Down Dog and rest.

WHO IS RESTING IN DOWN DOG?

I hate that pose.  But sadly, after a while I so start to like the down dog.  I mean, I rarely feel like I am falling over in down dog.  I'm not gasping for breath... sure, my arms hurt but I do get a breather.  Nothing wrong with that, right?

So, today I am in down dog.  It's like a "normal" day around here.

NEWSFLASH: the house is listing today.  Our realtor is great, and super well intentioned, but all the sudden I feel like I have 3 kids and living in a 5 star Hotel where we can't touch anything.  It makes me tired to think about it.  If you'd like me to email you the link leave your email below.  I don't want to post it for all the world to see....

Now I've had a chance to really start looking at houses in AZ.  Drew will be there in a few days and I'd like for him to look at a bunch.  Anyone live in AZ who has thoughts?  It seems like the Kyrene school district is the best.  I have heard Chandler schools are good, but I can't seem to find a decent Chandler middle school that is anywhere near Drew's job.

I'd love some input from locals.

I also finished my NRP class yesterday.  I must admit the feat of concentrating on one thing at a time is pretty difficult.  I hope I pass it.  I need to re-learn how to focus.

I have a few job interviews on Thursday which may or may not be my birthday.  It sure would be a nice present for them to adore me like I'd love to adore them.  As I looked at my current job yesterday I got really sad that I'm going to miss that place.  Crazy people and all.

How do you like the new blog font?  Bad? Good?  I am bitter that blogger somehow ate  my new header when I posted it so I had to do some fixing today.  But, life's all about fixing, right?

{kisses for my blog readers}

  1. Kyrene is a good district, if you're going for Tempe, or the southern schools in Tempe District. Gilbert is a good district, too.

    But I have to say that I grew up in the 'hood (Scales, Gilliland and Tempe High School, look up those ratings) and my family and friends all turned out to have great scholastic achievements and successful careers. It's all about the friends the kids make and the priorities your family set towards school. There are good educational opportunities offered everywhere.

    And now I step off my soap box, still green with envy that you get to move to my hometown.

  2. Hi! My name is lacey and I've stalked your blog for forever. I'm a friend of Lara's and met her when we both lived in campus housing in Arizona. My husband just recently finished is Masters at ASU (in December) and now we are living in Texas (just moved 4 weeks ago) for a stint while he gets experience...blah,blah,blah. We lived in Arizona for 8 years. All 3 of my children were born there. My heart is still there. I miss it and to read your blog about moving there makes me hate Texas even more. Sure it's hot for a long time but that's really it's only down fall. In my own opinion. We lived in Gilbert. Gilbert is a little Provo. Kid you not. Lots of LDS, clean, new, beautiful! Go to Gilbert! My oldest who is just finishing 1st grade went to Challenger Basic School. A very small charter school on Greenfield. Amazing school. It goes up to 6th grade. From there it's Highland Middle and then Highland High which is ranked really high up. While we lived on campus my husband took a FREE shuttle to and from ASU. It was the best thing about living on campus (Gateway). And when we didn't live on campus I would drive him over to the stop and pick him up in the evenings. I loved seeing his truck sit in our driveway all day long! I'd be happy to answer any other questions as we just very recently moved from Gilbert. Happy Packing!

  3. So exciting you're moving here! I live in glendale, its just north of phoenix. And although my kids haven't reached middle school age yet, I love the schools here in my area. But chandler is good too. I really believe you make the school awesome, not the school making you awesome. :)

    Gilbert and everything around it is very utahish. So if you want that, go for it. But if you don't mind being "ammon among the lamanites", come out to my neck of the woods. :)

  4. Hi Hilary,

    Sorry for contacting you through your comments section but I couldn't find an email address on your blog. We found your blog and thought you would enjoy our new website www.MommyGiggles.com.
