While reading Boys Adrift I've noticed that as boys age they don't read... they don't do a lot of things, but if my boys were to stop reading it would make me really sad. They're avid readers, and I hope they keep that trait lifelong.
Then,I started to look at the literature that's out there for older boys, and it's somewhat lacking. I mean, girls have plenty to read in high school -- boys, not so much.
BUT I just found a new young adult fantasy that seems to fit the bill of what my boys like to read. In other news, it's also written by my cousin, but I'm excited to peruse it and then hand it back to Conner. It's described as a " humorous YA urban fantasy, with a twist of horror." The reviews have been really great, which isn't surprising since this same cousin found it quite amusing me to scare me with toy spiders in my personal youth. But I digress....
If you're looking for a book for your middle/high school boys maybe this one is for you.
He also wrote Cavern of Babel which Conner and I both enjoyed, so I think this one will be a good read too!
