Have you heard this quote before? I've been thinking a lot about it lately. I've been thinking about how you think that moving or changing your situation may be the key to your happiness. I'd thought for a LONG time that having a larger home would change our lives dramatically.
Turns out, it's pretty great but we're still here. We still fight, I still yell at my kids and the happiness quotient is pretty well the same. I just have further to yell. :)
I think the key to this quote is really liking yourself, because it is the one thing that you'll bring with you no matter where you go. And if there's something wrong with YOU, it will come with you each place you go.
Annoying, am I right?
I had a friend who bought a much larger home, and I was excited to go see it, only to see I felt like I was in her old home, just more space. Things still looked the same. She was the same (of course, which is great, because I love her) but life was still pretty well the same. :)
I remember looking around the house at some point after our move and realizing that life was pretty much the same. I guess I felt there'd be some bippity-boppity-boo transformation when we got here and things would be VASTLY different. But they weren't.
So, if you're looking for a change, I think you have to look in your own heart. And believe me, that's good advice for all of us. :)
