I say that I used babywise back in 2000 when I was DESPERATE to get on a schedule with my newborn. At the time it was really the only baby sleep book out there and I boiled it down to a sleep/wake/eat/play cycle.... I do say that I follow and adjusted pattern of that, and that's really all I used it for. I 100% get parents desperate need to get some sort of schedule in their lives and that worked for us. I am also SUPER clear that while I have done newborns a LOT in several occupations, I am not an expert on it and people should talk with their pediatrician about it.

I found your blog through a Pin on wills and trust. (thanks for some great info!)
As a retired art teacher who also was a LLL leader and Childbirth instructor when my kids were small I was curious about your pre-natal info. I was very disturbed to see you recommending Gary Ezzo's Babywise book considering the American Academy of Pediatrics issued a formal statement against it. I saw first hand the problems his methods cause for new moms in my personal and professional circles in the early 1990s. One made the national news for a failure to thrive baby. There were many medical professionals speaking against his feeding schedules that lead to the AAP statement. Also Ezzo's "Christian" version of Babywise called Preparation for Parenting was a hotly debated issue dividing churches. I attended one of his seminars, and found more problems in the conversation I had with him. Somewhere with my old childbirth teaching supplies I have a box full of critiques on Ezoo's methods. I would hope you could still find some of this information online. Please research this since it was condemned by the medical community over 20 years ago.
