You know someone’s special when they not only are your first and favorite babysitter for your firstborn, but then inspire you to greatness otherwise.
And that’s what I found in my friend Pili.
I had my sister in law watch Conner for his first year but then the trip to Palo Alto got long, and I found my friend Pili close by. She was in my ward and had similarly aged kids. I also really admired her.
Then I get to the point where I’m trying to figure out where to send Mr C to school. Turns out I didn’t research heavily, but we went to the same school as her.
And I watched her with the PTA and how she helped other moms, especially the moms that needed help. She knew all moms needed help, not just her friends. And while I never served directly on the PTA with her there I did do School Site Council as well as a few other things.
And when I moved here I knew that PTO would be a part of my life. Maybe not the part that it is now.
But I wanted to thank her for showing me the way. New-to-school moms need examples to show them how to be a gracious school parent and she has excelled in so many ways at that. I love her so much, and I’m grateful to have her in my life. 🙂 Love you Pili. 🙂
Oh, and the time that you came and helped me move out my last few crumbs out of my house and cried with me. That was a moment I won’t ever forget. You are a wonderful friend, I don’t deserve you.
