My co-workers were making fun of my watch a few too many times at work. I decided to look around at Goodwill at the watches that were there…
Turns out there are a lot of watches that find their way to goodwill just because the battery’s dead and they don’t want to replace it. Great watches, look brand new. Sweet.
As I’m buying them (I think I bought 4 last 50% off sale) I’m manually calculating how much it will be to buy batteries for these watches.
After marrying Drew I realized that you could change your own watch batteries, so I’d check the size and buy one at Walmart (usually about 5 bucks for 1 or 2) and Drew would change it for me.
And when I brought my goodwill watches home I realized that almost all of them were the 377 size. They had all of the other sizes, including 3 watches Drew had whose batteries had gone dead.
Anyway, I bought 3 different kinds, and probably spent 10 bucks on 20 watch batteries. Now we have a few to spare for either new goodwill finds (I really think watches are a great fashion statment, which I haven’t made for a long time…) or for when the other ones die. I know I have a Mickey Mouse watch somewhere around here….
