I have chosen to put my kids stuff in sheet protectors and then into a binder for each year. Anything that won't fit in a sheet protector we take a photo of. I then include scrapbooking pages into their binders. All the binders then go into plastic totes. It looks like it takes a little more room than your system, but my kids can easily see things without loosing items.

I am way impressed you get through it all in a week though. It takes me a good portion of the summer to get it done. Probably because I do it for a few more kids.

I have bins for their stuff too. But I have problems.

1. They are not big enough. I doubt I'll get all of Bria's stuff in hers this year.

2. The kids get into them all the time. They love it. Then they take stuff out without my knowledge and ruin it.

I clearly need a garage. :) And bigger bins.
