This week’s family home evening was about the 12th article of faith.
We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
I wasn’t quite as prepared as maybe I’d like to be, but after reading through D&C 134 I thought we should really read through it and discuss it, and that’s just what we did.
Conner is learning about government and the founding of our country in school and I think he was really intrigued as we reviewed what our church thinks is important in a government.
I think that reading and discussing scriptures is something we need to do more often. Like, daily. Instead of plowing through our portion of the Book of Momorn we could even just do a verse and really figure out what it means for our family.
Anyway, just what I took from it. Thank goodness of Apple Nachos as a delicious treat.
On another note, do you sometimes just FEEL satan wanting to get you to scream and just give up with FHE. I just want to YELL at my kids to sit DOWN and be QUIET. Almost every time. I think I need to work on centering myself so I’m not as tempted by that as I could be. I am a yeller. 🙂
