In reply to Sunshine. I think that's TOTALLY true, but I always buy the kind with the cinch in waist.... and she is EXTREMELY SKINNY. It's something I should consider more though.

food for thought: as a long time thrifter for a now 8 year old, be careful when buying jeans. My daughter is a slim in some brands and regular in others. We spend a day at the mall trying all the brands to find the right size, then go to the thrift stores during 50% off sales and see what we can find. We don’t buy ahead because of the slim/regular factor for jeans.

I spent a little bit of money on Dressing Your Truth, but it has enabled me to thrift like nobody’s business. That one investment has saved me time and money, and I’ve never been better dressed. I did it to upgrade my image and ended up saving money on mine and my daughter’s clothes. I like your blog because it is down to earth. Thanks for that! Some of these blogs are the Barbie dolls of the web.

My teen daughter and I have scored some great things at Goodwill. She just picked up a cute maxi skirt. We are avid thrifters. I think you meant to say you couldn’t, could not, care less about labels though. Obviously if you could care less then you care, and the point you were making is that you weren’t into conspicuous consumption. You were looking for quality. I’m with you on that. I don’t have certain labels, but Gymboree, Lands End, J Crew, etc all are better quality.
