Man, this week is a doozy. Maybe I’m saying that too often. Anyone think that?
Either way, we have 2 pages of lesson for this and a good 3/4 of one of those pages is a lesson that my kids will start fighting during.
So, my plans are as follows:
A lot of this lesson is about learning to follow someone else… so I thought that any of the Dora books with their maps would be good. We happen to have this one. Well, we probably have 12 others, but I thought this one would appeal to boys and girls (although I tend to have mostly girls).
I went through the LDS.org website and got some info on each of our latter day prophets and compiled it. I’m hoping to get large pictures of each of our latter day prophets and we’ll show the picture and talk a little bit about each one. My kids love looking at pictures. I even put my prophet info on a google docs, in case you want to use it.
A prophet matching game. I think previous prophets aren’t something we talk too much about in primary, so this makes me happy.
Then, we will definitely talk about some of the things that the prophet has asked us to do:
Family home evening
study the scriptures
go to church on Sunday
honor your parents
don’t get offended
plant a garden
have extra food in case of an emergency
I’m thinking I’ll print those out and cut them up and then we can draw them out and talk about how important these things are, and how they can make us happy.
And that is all. I think the prophet matching game can take up some extra time if need be.
Anyone else have amazing ideas? It looks like these primary hacks get a lot of views. I hope they’re helpful!
