Clean products don’t JUST clean — they must have the ability to clean great, but also be good to our environment — what method do you use to find them?
Clean products need to CLEAN and BE clean. Is there a way to find such a thing? Do you have to DIY natural best cleaners, or is it possible to buy household clean products that are awesome?
**Stay tuned for a way to get many of these products for FREE**
Ok, time for a true confession. I spent a lot of my life buying cleaning supplies that were on sale/super cheap.
Now, don’t get me wrong, my old standby of water and vinegar does a LOT of work for me. I love it.
But, it can’t do everything, and often adding the right brush or tool can make it EVEN easier!
So, I have slowly made the progression:
Cheap products>> Homemade products >> Mix of homemade products with some GREAT cleaning products.
And frankly, cleaning has never been easier (and truly, really satisfying).
Today I want to share a few of my favorites, in hopes it will help some of you!
Mrs Meyers Dish Soap
I spent a lot of my life feeling like all dish soaps were pretty much created equal. And in reality, I do think that a lot of the regular-brand dish soaps work the same.
And then I tried Mrs Meyers. And I was changed. I had read that Amerca’s Test Kitchen ranks it highest. And I am in full agreement. This stuff is great. It breaks down food in a different way, and I love the stuff. I’ll never go back. 🙂 I was almost sad to finish up the other brand I had sitting on my sink after I had tried Mrs Meyers.
BTW, if this sounds appealing — I know a way to get it for FREEEeEEEEE…. {keep reading}
Bubble Up Dish Brush
Maybe it’s just me, but do your kids put in like a full Tablespoon of dish soap any time they try to clean something?
Hopefully, it’s just me, but we’re wasting a ton of dish soap and I am left with a sink full of bubbles after the “pan is clean” (which is also a lie because there is now a ton of soap in it).
The Bubble Up Dish Brush changed all of that!
You add a small amount of soap (I usually do that part because I apparently am skilled enough to only put in a little bit)
**Side rant, how is it my kids can kill everyone in Mario Kart, but can’t just put a little dab of dish soap in a pan — something seems fishy about it**
Anyway, you add a small amount of dish soap in that white ramekin, add some water. You pump the metal plate up and down (it has a spring under it). You’re left with some soapy water getting on your brush.
You wash the pan, you do a quick rinse and BOOM, you’re done. Plus, the brush lives in the ramekin. It couldn’t be easier (well, maybe when I live the life of Mrs Jetson it will be better, but I and my robotic vacuum feel like I’m fairly close)!
Anyway, I love the bubble up dish brush — I showed it in my haul right here.
The Best Dish Towels
Ok, when I first bought these, I bought them because I needed to fill my cart with something (to use the coupon I had). But, then it came.
And they are AMAZING! They wash up SO well (WAY better than our terry cloth towels!).
They match any kitchen decor, they come in a number of colors. Anyway, I love them.
So much joy from a dishtowel. I love it!
Oh, and if THIS sounds nice… I know a way to get it {yup, you guessed it} for FREEEEEEEEeeeeeEEE!
Bon Ami
I always felt like there was some holy grail that COULD clean off the bottom of pans, or burned on yucca.
That’s Bon Ami.
Now, I do think that Banking soda or just dish detergent does well — but wow Bon Ami takes it to a whole new level!
My kitchen sink (a nasty old white one) has never looked better. I get so much happiness every time I check it out after a cleaning. 🙂
The price is INSANE. Such a great product (with an even better price).
Spray Bottles
As I said I still love to use homemade products. Water and vinegar are awesome, but if you add some essential oils it does something nasty to your bottle… which is why I got a glass bottle.
And woah, the spray, and how it protects the essential oils. Anyway — it’s great.
BUT, you might worry about them breaking.
No more! Silicone sleeves for the win! Anyway — what a smart idea!
Toilet Cleaner
Now, prior to all of this, I basically felt like toilet cleaner was acid. If I got any on any part of my body I’d get third-degree burns and die.
Enter the Method Spearment Toilet cleaner. It’s just different.
It smells good.
It really gets my toilet just as clean. And I’m pretty sure it’s not going to burn my face off.
But, mostly I like that my toilet ends up with a minty smell.
It’s the little things…. 🙂
**The next thing I’m crushing on is Castile Soap. I’m going to work on making a few of our own cleaners. Anyone tried Castile for cleaning at their house?**
So, what I’m saying is that a better clean comes with better supplies.
And, my favorite place to get them is Grove.
I love the reviews.
I love how they vet their products so I know I’m not ruining my kid’s earth while I get a clean counter (I do love clean counters, but I’m not sure that’s worth it).
I love that each month they remind me if I need anything. I love that their VIP subscription is reasonably priced, so I can get just what I need, shipped right to my house.
That’s right, no more scouring the Walmart cleaning isle trying to find SOMETHING that will work. I just check Grove. 🙂
Right now, Grove is running an AWESOME offer — just for Pulling Curls readers!
Plus, if you sign up for VIP shipping (free for 60 days) you can get it shipped free to your house.
What do I love about Grove?
- I love their products — they just pick good stuff!
- I love that they check ingredients to make sure it’s more environmentally friendly
- I love that they’re not trying to ship me something I don’t want. I always get a reminder in plenty of time if I want to cancel a shipment
- I love the reviews — this is a site that hosts people who LOVE to clean! Their reviews mean a lot!
- Everything is packaged really well — shipping cleaning products could be a nightmare!
- I love how easy it is to add things — instead of wandering the isles of Walmart I click and it adds and ships.
I’m getting insanely busy guys. I just don’t have the time I used to have. Maybe you feel like that too?
This one is just saving me the stress of one more thing. Plus, it allows me to clean faster.
I love it!
Be sure to grab my cleaning printable (sometimes I can share great deals from Grove, and this will let me share them with you too!), and check out my other cleaning tips below that!
