As you can tell, I have a strong connection to the women in my life in California. I found MANY kindred spirits who touched me in many ways. I was very lucky to have them.
So, as I pictured moving here and taking on the sagebrush and dust storms, I pictured myself all alone with all of my friends elsewhere. It was me against the world.
But God had other things in mind. I met amazing friends like Aubrey and Margaret. And they are just what I need right now. They’re strong, capable, sensible women who really help me be a better wife and a better mother.
Both of them share a lot of my own “issues” and I really love their children and how they parent. We just really mesh well.
And sometimes as I’m taking a moment to think of all the things that God has blessed me with I take a step back and wonder how I got so lucky. How did I move to a ward that had just the people I needed in my life right now?
It just happened that while I was sobbing my eyes out that life wasn’t moving fast enough that God was building my life here brick by brick to perfectly suit me.
And now I feel a little bad for sobbing.
Aubrey and I went on walks last fall right when my inner spirit needed it. My husband was gone, I was working and just trying to figure things out and our walks kept me going. Thank you.
Margaret is my willing Carnival compadre who is always there to back me up and be my sounding board. I’m so thankful for her and her willingness to help me with crazy ideas. Thank you.
I’m just saying that life is amazing. Look for the people who you need in your life. Say hello and take them in. Thanks for being such great friends, you guys. I really love you.
**It has occured to me that in saying specific people I may be offending other people because I didn’t say them. There were LOTS of people in CA and there are lots of people here that I love, but I wanted to think of specific instances that I wanted to thank people for and give thanks. Hard to do when you’re not naming names. If you think I love you, I do. Rest assured.
