Hey mom! What’s for dinner?
I get asked that, oh… 600 times a day, I feel like? Of course, that doesn’t count the times that we open the fridge and just stare at it. Those teens have SO much going on. I’m not just talking about their texting fingers or their calendar, but their body is just ALL over the place. So many hormones, so much growth in so many ways. And that comes at a price. And that price is food. Teenagers are hungry all the time, and Mom is tired of making food. Problem is, you chug some crackers and you’re hungry 3 minutes later asking me what’s for dinner.
And then I saw HORMEL® REV® Wraps in my deli section of my grocery store. That’s something they could grab right after school to keep the hunger at bay for a bit.
Hormel Foods was gracious enough to provide us a few for free. First, let’s check out that ever-important nutritional panel.
Looks like 300 calories with 13 grams of protein in this pepperoni one (they each differ in the amount of protein). That’s enough to keep them going for a bit. Now, before you think you can pop these in their lunches, I think it will take a few of them. Here it is with a teen hand for reference (teen preferred not to be pictured, what a surprise).
It’s basically the wrap flat-bread, meat and cheese. In this particular case pepperoni and mozzarella. My son REALLY liked the convenience of it, and found it to be tasty. I won’t lie, he’s sometimes stolen the younger sibling’s convenient lunch items. He said it was better than those. In the end, he ate the whole thing and ran off to his next activity. Zero complaints and I think that’s a win in my book!
In fact, that last picture, you can’t see it — but it’s half eaten because I wasn’t fast enough. I’m guessing he liked it. And seriously, who doesn’t love it when peaches are in season? HORMEL® REV® Wraps come in a variety of flavors:
There’s even some breakfast ones! I must admit we seem to ALWAYS be late out the door around here.
