I have one child, in particular, who has a REALLY hard time with “fun” stuff. It has happened twice, probably because we don’t frequent this type of amusement park often.
So, today he just gets SO mad while we’re at the Renaissance festival. He wants to see a hypnotist, but I explain (as I had before we left) that I wasn’t sure that we’d be able to get to everything that everyone wanted to do. We did make it to the hyponotist, but by the time we got there we got poor seats and he was so mad there was no return.
Then there was just him being angry, him yelling and almost hitting/kicking me but thinking better of it.
I am worried about our trip to Disneyland as this exact same thing happened at the County Fair a few months ago.
When we got home, we talked about it and I reminded them that whenever you go to an event or something like that, you’re not sure exactly of what you’re going to be able to do and you need to go with the flow. Also, if you’re hungry or thirsty you need to let me know, and not balk at the warm water at the drinking fountain.
They all agreed and said they were sorry (the other one had a smiliar, although smaller, event earlier in the morning).
I am left feeling like they are ungrateful snits who I shouldn’t be bringing to stuff like this, even though I REALLY want them to have many experiences. It probably doesn’t help that I did today solo and I coudn’t accomodate the requests I usually can becuase there was just me.
It’s gang warfare out there, isn’t it?
In other news, I was unaware that boobs were such a big part of the renaissance. I mean, I see a lot of the ladies, but even I was wondering how some women had cleavage up to their neck. I thought I might have to trach one or two….
