Another day, another dollar — right? Or, another football game, as it turns out on Fridays
This picture pretty well sums up our life. El Presidante has finally joined his dad with Friday Night lights. He is having a GREAT time. Everything you hope high school will be. Good friends, good times, learning to be more responsible. Empahsis on learning.
Princess P had sight words sent home from school. I tried to find a delicate way to mention to her teacher that we’re a bit beyond site words. She actually picked up a couple of fairy chapter books the last time we were at Goodwill and is plowing through those. I think I may work on math more than those darn sight words.
Mr Middle is hanging all his hopes on being in the school’s Lego Robotics club (he was also in this last year). I am trying to remind him of the pride cycle in the Book of Mormon. Life is hard when you are literally the smartest human to EVER walk the earth. don’t-cha-know?
Drew is loving band this year. REALLY great kids. Makes me happy to see him happy.
Primary program takes up about 25% of my brain, PTO takes up 25%, the blog is 25% and family trys to suck the rest. Oh yeah, and I have a job. I’m working HARD to NOT multi-task and just take one thing at a time, realizing that will help me focus and get stuff DONE.
I have spent a fair amount of time wondering why life is so VERY unfair. My prayers are heading to epic lengths with all that my friends are going through. I guess burdens change us and help us grow. I just don’t like watching dear friends have to go through that. I just realized that it’s been 2 years since this guy left our earth. We miss him almost every day. Drew is doing a Tower of Power show. I know Roddy is with him. He’s always with us. God makes us who he wants us to be. He’ll do it for you too. It just isn’t fun, all the time.
But some of the time it is, right?
One of my favorite quotes from Joan Rivers said
“Everyone has been through something. You laugh at it and it gets a little smaller. “
Although her humor was sometimes crass, she could certainly see the funny side of life. That is a talent I hope I always keep with me.
