If you’re not sure what contraction to feel for, you can check out the BloomLife Monitor (and a BloomLife promo link that will save you $20). But, does that BloomLife Coupon code make it worth it? Let’s find out.
It can be really hard to know WHEN you’re contracting. If you’re here to know what a contraction feels like << I actually split that post off right there (this post is more a review of the BloomLife monitor).

Save $20 with a BloomLife Coupon Code
I know a lot of you are here just looking for a coupon code — I have a lot more info on the monitor down below if you want to keep reading. 🙂 Otherwise, just shop through this link to save $20.
What is a contraction?
A contraction is your UTERUS contracting — just like when you contract your biceps when you lift weights.
The hope is that uterus will push that baby out through your cerivx and help it live outside your body. The BloomLife monitor watches for your uterine muscle to contract!
Where do you feel your contractions?
Because your uterus is a pretty big muscle — you can feel your contractions in a variety of places. Areas women often feel them include:
- Lower abdomen
- Back (both lower and a bit higher)
- Hips
How do I know I’m contracting?
Well, if you don’t get the Bloom Monitor — your uterus will start to feel hard under your skin when you contract. It can be hard to tell for sure — but if you lay down, and really try to relax, as well as pressing on your belly when you feel the contraction, as well as when you don’t — you might be able to feel it.
But, you’ll also know it from a lot of pain.
BloomLife Contraction Monitor & Coupon
BloomLife has created a monitor that allows you to track contractions (and yup, this link will save you $20).
It has a smartphone app that allows you to see what you’re experience is in real time.
We, of course, have similar monitors at the hospital — but they’re crazy expensive — you really wouldn’t want to buy one of those.
Home Pregnancy Contraction Monitor
Let’s talk a bit about how a Bloomlife monitor rental would work, and I’ll give you my full thoughts below this…
The great part about bloom is that it’s a rental opportunity. That means you can know, AT HOME, if you’re contracting — instead of coming to see me at the hospital.
Plus, you can wear it ALL the time. It’s pretty fantastic.
One of the things I really like is how it COUNTS contractions, it’s different than how we do it in the hospital — and you can find out more about how it works here.
Their low weekly rental fee, allows you to just get it when you need it, and return it when you’re done. 🙂
This video explains it a bit more:
BloomLife Cost & Pricing
The BloomLife Contraction monitor is $20/week.
When you go to the website, you will input your due date and what # of weeks you want to start it at.
My link gives you your first week for free, but they do charge your card the shipping fee at the time of your order. You can see there on the left, if I was due January 6th and wanted it from 36 weeks on it would come December 9th. Weekly charges won’t start until it arrives on your doorstep.
You’ll be charged as long as you have it, so you can request a return label. As soon as it’s scanned by UPS your rental ends.
Nurse Review of the Bloom Monitor:
Ladies, if you can’t feel a contraction, it is likely that your cervix won’t either.
In general, unless the thought of having contractions you won’t feel is REALLY stressing you out, I don’t think it’s worth it.
BUT, if you feel like this solves an issue you have — then grab it with $20 off. 🙂
Usually, your whole body wants to get into the labor action — my post “Am I In Labor” talks about ALL the other signs you might see as you go into labor.
